Dance, rap, and production are three of the many talents attributed to the upcoming legend, Ant Agurz. Born Anthony Agurs on December 24, 1993, this Raleigh native has taken entertainment by storm since his youth. He moved to Fayetteville in 2013 and has since enjoyed several accomplishments, especially in the online community. He’s been a guest on Desert Storm radio, covered by MTV’s Indie Artists to watch, cosigned by the one and only DJ Smallz, and featured on Vevo multiple times.
Agurz’s influences stemmed from then young rappers like Lil’ Bow Wow and Lil’ Romeo when he started rapping at the tender age of ten. Four years later, after viewing Chris Brown’s, “Gimme That,” he became determined to add dance as part of his performance, which he taught himself. His twin brother, another dancer, is a huge inspiration to him and they began working sets until they mutually agreed it was best to go their separate ways.
Agurz began his college career in 2013, at Fayetteville State University, where he currently studies Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship. Originally, his intentions were to “do everything (he) could to be out of the spotlight,” but his desire to develop in various areas of life has ironically launched his dreams to the top of his priorities, leading him to form networks that have helped to boost his career as an artist. The unfortunate, but a pivotal end of his relationship, served as a catalyst leading to the release of “Love. Growth. Change.”
Ant has expressed that since “coming on campus, (he) saw a lot of fellow Broncos making heavy moves (in) their artistry, whether it was music, art, dance, or acting.” This sparked a fire that helped to rekindle his own passion for the arts. Since this realization, Ant has worked extensively on campus with Julian Bruton, his official manager, and fellow Bronco, with music, videos, and designing his personal logo.
